i think its going to be interesting to see how other olympic hockey teams play on the smaller surface. i do have to say that it is a little stupid to make the rink bigger for a couple weeks if they have to go back to the original size afterwards. i would just leave it so more money could come in.

When they built the Palladium in Ottawa it was built so that they can easily convert it into an International sized ice surface. I know that the arenas in Ottawa and Vancouver were built around the same time. I would think that they would both have that same feature.

I have been waiting for the 2010 Olympics to come to Vancouver for a few years now, I forget exactly when they released the information to the public, but I was extremely excited. By then I will have plenty of money saved up and will be staying in Whistler for the entire duration of the olympics.

Go Canada. I've never been there, but I have a very positive image of Canada in my head... although it does bother me a little that they filmed Miracle there and used Canadians as the American crowd.

That being said, I'm glad the Olympics changed because if the U.S. had the winter games, it would have to do the same thing and it is just so much work and money for a temporary change.

Playing on nhl ice won't be an advantage as all the good European teams are pretty much entirely made up of nhl'ers. Russia brought some RSL guys over for these past games but they weren't major role players.

I definetely need to make a road trip over to Vancouver to see some games (I live in Calgary).
