All Star-Crosby out,Malkin in??

PITTSBURGH -- For more than two periods, the Pittsburgh Penguins witnessed what life without star Sidney Crosby is like. It wasn't pretty.

Crosby badly sprained an ankle while ramming into the boards in the first period, and the Andre Roy-led Tampa Bay Lightning took advantage of his absence for a 3-0 victory over the Penguins on Friday night.

Crosby was diagnosed with a high ankle sprain, an injury to the large ligament that connects the two biggest bones in the lower leg, the tibia and fibula. The injury is more serious than the traditional twisted ankle and can sideline an athlete for a month or more.

With this injury ALL Star Esatern team loses another star,so that means Malkin will get an invitation afterall....

Bad luck certenly will be for Pengs who will be without their lead player for a month, and we could allready see the reasults in last game against Tampa.
No playmaker,no play and ofc no goals.

That's definately bad news for the Pens but it's good news for opposing teams. The Pens will have to pull together to make up for Crosby's absence.

The goalie is Pittsburgh Fleury has the same injury. He has been out since Dec 6th. He is expected to be back in early February. I guess they are hoping Crosby recovers faster than that but I've heard people saying they don't expect him back until close to the playoffs.
The Pens got a win tonight but I'm sure they will struggle without Crosby in the lineup.

I heard that Malkin didn't make the All-Star team initially because they wanted to send a message to him because he (among others) played very a very lazy Young-Stars game last year.
