COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - The Columbus Blue Jackets agreed to a one-year contract Monday with defenceman Sheldon Brookbank.
The 26-year-old Brookbank, selected as the American Hockey League's top defenceman last season, scored a career-best 15 goals and had 38 assists in 78 games with the Milwaukee Admirals.
He played three games with the Nashville Predators last year, picking up his only NHL point with an assist against Pittsburgh on Feb. 6.
Scouting reports say he's a decent enforcer. I guess thats pretty good for Columbus since he can be a physical force for them if they decide to trade Adam Foote.
