Best Enforcer in the NHL
Lets drop the mitts and see who everyone thinks is the best enforcer in the NHL.
To start it off I am gonna go with the obvious selection of Gorges Laraque. Boogaard is also a rising star in the world of enforcers. As far as playing ability as well as fighting, its hard to argue against Zdeno Chara. He doesnt always get many punches in....but he rarely loses a tilt.

I think that McGrattan has to be up there in the conversation. I believe he lead the league last year in fighting majors. I don't remember every fight but I know he won most of them.

Todd Fedoruk...not only is he a great fighter, he's also REALLY fast (unlike Laraque, who can barely skate at all), can score the occasional goal, and he's a great guy to have in the locker room.

Fedoruk only had 2 more goals than Laraque did last year and looking at www.hockeyfights.com Laraque has won the last four fights between the two fighters. The good thing about Laraque is that he has generally been able to play in the playoffs unlike Fedoruk who usually sits in the press box once the playoffs start.

is it just me or does it seem like there are less and less enforcers in the new nhl. i guess its because there arent alot of big name enforcers left. its kinda wierd not having tie domi in the league anymore. i'll never forget that flyers fan who came crashing down into the sin bin after domi squirted him with water. from what i hear, the two managed to patch things up and now are on good terms with one another. i liked boogard last season but so far this year, im keeping my eye on colby armstrong in pitt. hes one of the best young 2-way players ive seen.

I wouldn't say that. Fedoruk played a lot last post season until he got a bruised lung from a pretty good open ice hit. It isn't even fair to compare Laraque and Fedoruk as far as fighting goes. If Todd's a heavyweight then Laraque is a SUPERHeavyweight. The only reason they fight is because he's the only player on Anaheim who would even stand a chance....except for Andy McDonald of course...

There really isn't one anymore because the enforcer serves no purpose in this new nhl. I guess now if I had to pick the best all around guy (fighting skills included) I'd pick Chara because he can drop the gloves AND he can play unlike these guys who can only fight and nothing more.
