I have to say the Edmonton Oilers with Grant Fuhr in net. THey had three of the best forwards to ever play the game in gretzky, messier, and kurri. They also and solid d man core

In playoffs, they only lost one game in 13 contest; in overtime against the New York Islanders.

They finish first in the league in total points: 20 more than any team.
They finish first in the league in goals for: 64 more goals than any team.
They finish first in the league in goals against: 21 less than any team.

Larry Robinson - James Norris
Ken Dryden - Vézina
Scotty Bowman - Jack Adams
Frank J. Selke trophy was created the next year because of Bob Gainey and he win it 4 years in a row.

I tottaly aggre with you Eagle. My choice is for the 60's and 70's MOntreal Canadiens. In the time of the "Rocket", Guy Lafleur, Boum BOum Geofrion,Yvan Cournoyer, Ken Dryden... THe team was very hard to beat. THe stats that Eagle showed us proved was does I mean.

RE: Best Team in hockey to win the cup?

I think the dominant Detroit Redwings teams should get some consideration. Even though I never liked em.

I like the Red Wings mid to late 90's. The Russian 5 line was unbelievable.

The Oilers in the 80's were awesome, too.
