Biron re-signs with Sabres

Biron is going to stick around next season with the Sabres.

Despite losing his starting job, goaltender Martin Biron has decided to stick around the Buffalo Sabres.

Biron has accepted the Sabres' one-year qualifying offer, the team announced on Thursday.

The 28-year-old Biron went 21-8 with a 2.89 goals-against average in 35 games for the Sabres last season. But despite a 13-game winning streak from Nov. 15-Dec. 17, he lost his starting job to Ryan Miller, who led the team to the Eastern Conference finals.

The longest-tenured member of the team at eight seasons, Biron has a career record of 122-111-25 with a 2.49 GAA.

It's not a bad move from my standpoint. He gets to stay with one of the best teams in the league. Also I'm sure they told him that he has a chance at competeing for #1 spot.
