Blackhawks attendance

My brother is a season ticket holder with the hawks and he says for the first time in years they have actually sold out. At least this is good news so far as there is renewed excitement in Chicago for the Club. Maybe there are some others here that get to the games that can add a bit of info on this subject. However, the team has got to produce to keep the excitement level up. Right now things aren't going too well.

RE: Blackhawks attendance

That's great that they sold out a game. There are a lot of hockey fans in Chicago who have just been fed up with the way the team was run for so long. I think the fans there know enough about hockey to see that even if the Hawks aren't winning every night that they have a ton of potential right now.
I would love to see the Hawks back in the playoff picture on a regular basis. Looks like that won't happen this year but with all of the young talent they have it won't be long before they make it back to the playoffs.

I noticed a lot of things changed in Chicago once Wirtz died. I suppose a lot of fans didn't like the Hawks because of the way he worked things (like TV blackouts, etc). I guess thats one of the reasons why many people are returning to the Hawks and are getting season tickets. Of course, Kane & Toews is another reason. They have a lot of potential together and bring excitement to the ice when they play together.

RE: Blackhawks attendance

I had been up visiting my family over the last number of years and have caught a game here and there in Chicago. It was sad to see how bad the attendance was. You could sit anywhere you wanted. Things have improved. The key problem in the past, if they got some good, young talent, Wirtz wouldn't keep them around. One bonehead move after another. Now, the young son doesn't seem to have this mentality. I certainly hope he doesn't.

Yeah, doesn't look good right now for making the playoffs this year. I just hope they "stay the course" for the future.
