Bondra not yet ready to retire

Quote:
"Peter was on pace to record 40-plus goals and over 80 points last year before he got hurt, and he and I expect he will do the same next year over the course of the entire 2006-07 season," Ritch Winter wrote, responding to Monday's suggestion by general manager Don Waddell that the 38-year-old winger might be considering retirement."

From a statement released by his agent he plans to return next year, however has yet to make official plans with the Thrashers.  I'm not too sure about bringing him back, he's one of my favorites but I think we would be better off just replacing him from within, I think somebody mentioned Bourret maybe stepping up to fill his shoes, which could possibly work, but I could also see us grabbing a decent center to work with Kovy.  I'm not really 100% confident going into next year's season with Kapanen as the #1 center and the possibility of Holik as the #2.
