Briere to Philly or Montreal?
http://www.fannation.com/truth_and_rumors/view/4073
The thought is that this loss in the Eastern Conference final may have been Daniel Briere's last twirl on the ice in Buffalo uniform. The 29-year-old becomes an unrestricted free agent on July 1 and there are rumours that both Philadelphia, where his close friend and former roommate Martin Biron now plays, and Montreal will be among the teams making a substantial pitch for him.
I really think Buffalo needs to keep him and will keep him. I doubt Briere is interested in Montreal, but Philly could be an option since he's friends with Biron (like the article says) because they've been teammates since juniors, I think.

RE: Briere to Philly or Montreal?
If Gomez leaves NJ, there's talk Briere (or Drury) will fill in that hole, too.
NHL: Devils | NFL: Giants | MLS: Red Bull NY | EPL: Arsenal | NCAAF: Rutgers

RE: Briere to Philly or Montreal?
If Gomez leaves NJ, its because he'd be asking for too much $$$. I'd expect Gomez to be cheaper than Briere and maybe same price as Drury, so if NJ doesn't have the cap for Gomez they wouldn't have the cap for the other players.

I think philly has a bunch of cap room to work with, looking for big things this summer.
