Bruins pick up goalie

See if Alex can do it in Boston. I know he was a disapointment here in FL.

The Boston Bruins, in need of goaltending help after starter Tim Thomas left Wednesday night's loss with an injury, acquired netminder Alex Auld from the Phoenix Coyotes on Thursday in exchange for a minor league player and a fifth-round pick in the 2009 NHL draft.

The Coyotes get Nate DiCasmirro, a 29-year-old forward who's played 20 games this season with the Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League.

Auld, 26, registered a 3-6-0 record with a 3.54 goals against average and one shutout in nine games with the Coyotes this season, his first with Phoenix. He was signed as a free agent on Aug. 13. He has appeared in a 117 NHL games with Vancouver, Florida and Phoenix.

Thomas' injury came during a 4-3 overtime loss to the Devils after the starter fell awkwardly while trying to snare a deflected shot and had to leave the game.

"We're not 100 percent sure what the injury is," Bruins coach Claude Julien said Wednesday night. "He's still being evaluated."

Thomas was listed as out of the Bruins lineup with a lower body injury for their game against Montreal Canadiens on Thursday night.

Hmm I was un-aware that Manny Fernendez and Tim Thomas were both hurt! So my first thought was like why would they do that? Anways i understand now. Hope you can do good in Boston Alex! Good Luck.

Auld is good for a N2 goalie. His career stats show that. Just above 90%.
Good luck anyways!

He had a rough time of Florida. He seem to lose his confidence.
