Mark Gandler, agent for Alexei Yashin, has suggested that Montreal might be the perfect locale for his client to polish his image.
Yashin is friendly with several members of the Montreal Canadiens, and it seems he has done off-season training in Turku, Finland, the home of captain Saku Koivu.

Would he be welcomed by Montreal fans? He could play well with another stereotyped "lazy European" named Alexei Kovalev. They could form an all under-achieving line if they reacquired Mike Ribeiro (yash-kovalev-rebiero)! Unless Yashin signs for $2.5M or less, I'd be upset with my team if they signed him.

I think they should only sign him for less than $2.5M as Cronox is saying, but with bonuses. Then you will see playing every night to get these bonuses.

Personnaly, I would be happy to see him here in Montreal. AS everyone is saying, he could be a good center with Kovalev and Samsonov. The only problem is his salary. I like also the idea of bonuses that you mentioned Gsa. Let's see what GAiney will do!

I too, wouldn't mind seeing him in a Habs jersey, but at a reasonable rate. He does have the potential to do great in montreal, what happens though if he turns out to be an other Kovy? Let's just wait and see what Bob does.
LET'S GO!!!!
