Calling NHL players!
First of all, I wanna thank everyone for making this place that enjoyable. Every QNHLer is part of this success, especially the faithful ones that keep on coming to this place.
Ok that been said, I was thinking of some new ideas we can do while waiting for the season to start. I was thinking of something that we can achieve without spending a lot of money. The first thing that came to my mind is that we make a phone interview with some NHL players. It might be hard, but may be one of you guys know a NHL player, and we can arrange a quick interview and post it here. Or some QNHLer meet a player in person and do an interview. Either way, we need QNHLers to tell us if they know any NHL player. I am also open to other ideas...

RE: Calling NHL players!
I'm working on trying to do an interview with Mark Parrish of the Wild for the St. Cloud State University campus television station and could send you the audio portion, or the whole thing with the video, of the finished product if I am able to do it. It probably wouldn't be done until the beginning of the NHL season if it happens but hopefully that would work.

RE: Calling NHL players!
that sounds like an awesome idea! maybe if there are a lot of board members who play hockey you can have like a monthly "clinic" where you can have one of their coaches or a trainer give tips on how to improve (conditioning, skating, etc) and ask them any questions you might have.

If Ted Drury or Jason Marshall were still playing I could have gotten an interview with either one of them.

Even if they retired, it will be a great article or interview with them. When can you contact them?

RE: Calling NHL players!
Just an update - I was hoping to be able to do a story on Mark Parrish and share with you guys but I'm not able to because of all the professional media requesting interviews, etc with players and they can't fulfill college media requests. I wish I could be able to do it and share with you guys but sometimes you just gotta go with the flow and take the bad along with the good (plus the fact in broadcasting/media you're probably not always going to get the OK/all clear to an interview - just keep that in mind if anybody is wanting to get into the field).
