The contract is 4 year/22.5 millions. It makes 5.5 millions per season. He's a good player. He can be a good to replace Souray. A great acquisition, but I hope that Gainey will bring us more talented players before next season.

Looks like before they signed Hamrlik they offered that money to Souray, I guess he didnt take it and then they gave that money to Roman.
RDS.CA: reports UFA defenceman Sheldon Souray rejected a four-year $5.5 million per season offer from the Montreal Canadiens today.

I guess Calgary signed Sarich and Aucoin because they didn't want to re-sign Hamrlik to this kidn of money.
