Canes have acquired forward Scott Walker in a trade sending center Josef Vasicek to Nashville. I think this is a good trade. Vasicek is a big guy who plays like a midget. Doesn't use the body, is easy to knock down and is fairly slow. He doesn't show much heart either. He basically outstayed his welcome in Carolina. They've been expecting his breakthrough season for years and it still hasn't come. Walker plays with heart, is a good leader and a speedy player. A much better fit for the team.

Nashville got ripped off in this one. Must be Salary dump

The difference is salaries is only about 300k so that's not it. Canes had something Nashville needed and the Canes were looking to make an upgrade. The predators had an excess of wingers.  Nashville gets a big center, something they need.  I guess they still have hope in him reaching his potential, I know I don't anymore.
