Canucks acquire Shannon from Ducks
The Vancouver Canucks have acquired forward Ryan Shannon from the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for winger Jason King and a conditional draft pick in 2009.
Shannon, 24, made the Ducks roster out of camp last year and finished with 11 points in 53 games as a rookie. In 14 games with Portland of the American Hockey League, Shannon recorded nine points.
A 5-foot-9, 178-pound speedy forward, Shannon was originally signed as a free agent after playing for Boston College.
King, 25, spent the past season in Sweden when he couldn't come to contract terms with the Canucks. He tallied 15 goals and 19 points in 55 games with Skelleftea.
A seventh-round pick in 2001, King opened some eyes with 12 goals and 21 points in 47 games with the Canucks in 2003-2004. Injuries, including a concussion, have curtailed his production sin
King signed a contract with the Iserlohn Roosters of the German League last week.

I'm curious if Shannon will be used on the Sedin's line or only as a 3rd line player? Either way, I think it was a good move for the Canucks since they get a good, young player for a guy not likely to be in the NHL anytime soon.

No, Shannon will most likely be used on the 4th line as maybe a checker role. The sedin are on the first line with re-signed Taylor Pyatt. The thrid line will be kesler, cooke, linden ( if he re-sings) or cowan.
