Who would you rather build your team around?

Ovechkin for sure he got more points and never had near the talent around him, but you cant go wrong with either, Crosyby is great but still has to maturesome

I'd build a team around Crosby because in a few years he will surpass Ovies talent and become another Lemieux

Tough call, I'd have to say Ovechkin based on his performance this season, but that's no discredit towards Crosby's talent, I just think Ovechkin has more expeirence in playing tougher teams (which is why I think he transitioned into the NHL so well as a "Rookie").

id pick ovechkin, hes such a well rounded player he scores, passes, hits, pretty good defensively ( was a +2 on Washington. ) and put up alot of points and 50+ goals with a Crappy team, if he has a legit #1 center and a better winger on his line, he would be Incredable

This is one of the toughest questions in the nhl today, both of them have great talent but Sidney Crosby the fact the he had the help on the ice with Mario Lemueix for a while and he still has the help of Mario off the ice in the organization. He's more of a playmaker than ovechkin, ovechkin is a pure goal scorer but crosby can find people too.

Ovechkin. He scores, he passes, he hits.

I take ovechkin he is born leader and great player HE is the future of the NHL... He also does anything but whine like crosby

Neither Ovechkin nor Crosby had steady talent around them.

Lemieux retired, Palffy retired, Recchi was traded.

Crosby finally found chemsitry with a Rookie AHLer at the second half of the season...And then there was fire.



Besides...what about the world championships? 16 pts in 9 games is kind of the best an 18 year old has ever done at one of those "world championships".


Not to say Ovechkin isn't insanely skilled though. He won the NHL rookie of the year fair and square.
