Dallas Stars sign wing Mark Parrish

Quote:
DALLAS (AP) -The Dallas Stars have signed right wing Mark Parrish, acquiring a former All-Star who played for the Minnesota Wild last season.

Parrish signed a one-year, $500,000 contract.

The 31-year-old winger played in 66 games with the Wild last season and had 16 goals and 14 assists. Minnesota bought out the final three years of Parrish's contract in July, making him a salary-cap casualty. He's been bothered by injuries and never fully gained the trust of Wild coach Jacques Lemaire.

Parrish was an All-Star in 2002. He has also played for the Florida Panthers, New York Islanders and Los Angeles Kings. For his career, he has 208 goals and 164 assists.

Hated to see him go. I think he will do well with the North Stars.

I like Parrish, it was just to bad he wasn't able to stick around. Between being injured and being in Lemaire's doghouse/not gaining Lemaire's trust, I think that's why he was let go. Hopefully he'll rebound with the Stars.

He had a good debut with the Stars the other night...a hat trick. Man, what a way to debut with a new team.

He can score, I think he just needs to stay away from the injury bug, not be in the doghouse of coaches and just play his game. I think he'll do pretty good in Dallas.
