RE: Ducks in 2007./2008. season
Giguere is out with a hernia right now, not sure how long he is supposed to be gone for. Kind of tough to play without Giguere, Niedermeyer and Selanne plus the fact that they play 5 games in 8 days with 2 of them being in Europe seems unfair.

Not to mention the fact that Mathieu Schneider and Samuel Pahlsson are also out with injuries.
Giguere might be back for the home opener but that may be kind of a stretch...

RE: Ducks in 2007./2008. season
Tonight on Hockey Night in Canada they were talking about the Ducks playing so many games so close together and said that is what Brian Burke wanted. He had the choice to go back to Anaheim after London and have a rest or get some of their eastern time zone games out of the way and he chose to play instead of rest. He said if it was the wrong decision that he would take the blame and it would not be on the players.
I guess he made the wrong decision, other teams will learn from this for future European season openers.

I don't know that it is really about the road-trip. I'm sure that plays into it a little, but moreso that they just aren't the team they were last year, not to mention injuries that take them down yet another notch. Injuries happen, and they would have lost those games at home or on the road.

RE: Ducks in 2007./2008. season
They obviously are hurting with the loss of key players and injuries but I'm sure that if the first 5 games were spread out a little more they would have more than 3 pts. 5 games in 8 days is tough if they are all at home but to have them on 2 different continents is even worse. You probably won't hear the team using it as an excuse since it was their decision but that doesn't mean it isn't affecting them.

U said it all,but they wanted to play in England now we see the efects-they said even for the game in Detroit that they must use to time diference.

So with Hiller for last away game at Pittsburgh they recived one more then they could score and it ended in 5-4 victory for Pengs, but Anaheims ofence showed that they still have it.
Last night again Bryz in net and afte falling 0-1 in 1st they managed to win 2-1.It wa a hard game with out Bertuzzi i addmit, but there was Phalsson in line up and right away he was on point list.Good goaltending both from Bryz and Thomas.

Boogard Koed Bertuzzi in tonights game wich Ducks lost 2-0.So Wild is only undefeted team in NHL so far.Good scoring chances for Anaheim, exp. in 1st preriod, even had 5-on-3 game, but Harding was too good in net for Wild.
What will happend tonight when they host Red Wings.I fear the worst.Anaheim is in a slump and again they are making plenty of PIMs.

RE: Ducks in 2007./2008. season
It was just a bad, bad game. Minnesota dominated defensively and Anaheim had hardly any shots from within 5 feet of the net. The vast majority came from the point and were easily stopped by Harding. It was truly abysmal. I hope that this serves as a wake-up call for Detroit tomorrow.
