Yeah, last night was pretty depressing. But look for a completely different team on Sunday with Niedermayer and Weight in the line-up. I'm excited!

Despite loss in So for Anaheim won that game.
San Jose is hard team to beat,we all know that, but presence of Scotty was highy noticed.

Veteran comes close to playing hero in his first game this season, but his shot in overtime hits post and Sharks outlast Anaheim in shootout for 2-1 win.

Judging by the loud ovation he received when his name was announced in the starting lineup, Scott Niedermayer was indeed the center of attention Sunday night in his first game back with the Ducks.

Niedermayer's poise under pressure was welcomed heartily by an often rudderless team and his sense for the dramatic nearly produced another heroic moment at the Honda Center.

Nearly.

Instead of his shot finding the net in overtime, Niedermayer hit the post and the San Jose Sharks went six rounds in the ensuing shootout to outlast the Ducks, 2-1, in front of a sellout crowd of 17,174.

The script was set up for a Hollywood ending when Niedermayer ended his three-month sabbatical away from hockey by stepping right in the lineup and coming inches away from adding to his NHL record for overtime goals by a defenseman.

Also newcomer Bobby Ryan scored the only goal and has proven to be a potential in the future with his speed and puck handling,so i hope we see him more in line up!!!!

I think that if the Bertuzzi-Weight-Ryan line can maintain the instant chemistry they seem to have, Anaheim will have one helluva second line.

Deserved victory with an SO tonight from only 16 SOG's for Anaheim.
I must say but is how was supose to also on Sunday.

Rookie Ryan again scored a goal,PP goal and Niedermayer sign his 1st point (asist).

Looking forward what can they do tonight with Avs!!

Tonight should be a different kind of game against the Avs. Should be a little bit more wide open, but if the Ducks can get in on top of the Colorado defensemen and hit them a lot, the Ducks should win the war of attrition.

RE: Ducks in 2007./2008. season

And again Anaheim's defence come out big last night.
only allowed 12 SoG's,and that went in was nonedefedable for Hiller.

38 SoG on Budaj, who was flying all over the net and i belive he will never be so strong as this game. And what did Anaheim miss..........

But Schenider who was concidered to be traded, scored (again) in OT to boost Anaheim in 2-1 win.

Also i do not know why did Burke even thinh of trdeing Schenider when he is so good lately.....

Pronger also scored again,i belive Niedermayer will join them soon and with Schenider posting points almost every game Anaheim could have best def/ofensive line.

RE: Ducks in 2007./2008. season

I was only able to watch the 1st and 3rd periods, but from what I saw, that was a pretty dominant performance against a very offensively talented Colorado team. Just wait until the power play gets going and watch out!

RE: Ducks in 2007./2008. season

Big win last night against Edmonton - in a building that they haven't had very much success in. Good to see Doug Weight score his first goal as a Duck (and continue clicking with Bobby Ryan). The one bad thing about the Holidays is that I don't get to watch very many of the games due to the fact that my family doesn't get Fox Sports Net.

It's truly amazing what the return of a single player can do for the morale of a team.
