RE: EA NHL 07
I had always played the EA Sports NHL games until 2004 when I felt the EA games started to suck. I switched over to 2K Sports with 2K5 and am much happier with them. Playing 2K6 now and cant wait til 2K7 (with Big Joe T on the cover!). Since 2K5, 2KSports has also been known as making the better game, according to the majority of players and reviewers. I side with them this time around. When they added all the special features like on-the-fly coaching and such I felt 2K sports did a much better job with it. The EA Sports games started feeling clumsy or clunky after this point with non-intuitive controls. Im really enjoying 2KSports.
For anyone who has older versions of Xbox hockey games (2K3 and/or Rivals 2004), check out my thread on Xlink.

RE: EA NHL 07
There's a new video which I find stunning. And note that they still have two months left before the game is released (and that's a good thing because there obviously are a few bugs like some collision problems).
http://www.gametrailers.com/player.php?i...mp;pl=game
I've always been a 2k supporter too. From 2K3 to 2K6 I've said that EA's game has always had an arcadey feel to it and that 2k has put out a realistic game. Things changed after all of this NHL 07 stuff. While Kush (2k series developer) is still using an engine from 2K3 that they didn't even develop, EA has gone out and created an entirely new engine. There are no "gimmicky" things, and the game is all about hockey. It sounds and looks great, the goalies look STUNNING, and I can't wait. There will be an XBOX Live Marketplace demo out before the game's release on September 12th (well that's the ship date), so I'm ready for it.
The game is played on easy settings for all of the videos, so it really doesn't show off anything about the AI (other than the goalies of course). Also I'm sure they still have some touching up to do on things like the animations and whatnot. We'll see what the final product looks like in September

RE: EA NHL 07
As far as I know the ps2 version will be like this years edition. The next gen graphics and game play can only be run by the xbox360 and ps3.

RE: EA NHL 07
Basically the way I see it is for PS2/Xbox/PC its going to be the same game as last year with it programmend to say 07 instead of 06. Xbox 360 is all next gen. Your left anolog stick (360) will be for moving the player and your right annolog stick is your hockey stick. No move is scripted with the press of a button, you make your own move- Custom Skill Stick. Its going to be sweet... so sweet that they rasied the price today by $10 at futureshop and Best Buy

RE: EA NHL 07
nhl 07 will available sept. 14. only xbox 360 will support the next-gen version. curret-gen will still be upgraded and will include the right analog stick for passing only. good videos of the game can be seen at gametrailers.com, ign.com(new video added) and nhl07.com. any questions about the game just ask.

RE: EA NHL 07
It'll have all of that. I've read that the cap is included along with waivers, two-way contracts etc. In screenshots they've shown Bertuzzi in Florida, Luongo in Vancouver and Scott Niedermayer in a new ducks jersey. You can always download roster updates too if you're using a system with internet capabilities.
