Elias sues former agents
New Jersey Devils' captain Patrick Elias is suing his former agents claiming fraud, negligent misrepresentation, breach of fiduciary responsibility and agent malpractice.
Elias is seeking $2 million in damages from former agents Mark Gandler and Todd Diamond, who are named in the civil action.
Gandler, who also represents Isles' captain Alexei Yashin, denied the charges.
"Parick Elias' lawsuit against me, my partner and my company is completely without merit," he said. "We will contest it vigorously and expect a favorable resolution.
"It appears this is a misguided attempt to evade paying fees after years of [service]."
Elias went from one agent to Gandler and Diamond, and then to another agent, signing a $42 million, seven-year deal with the Devils last summer.
He got a deal of 42 million $US! Can't he be just happy with that? Leave your agent alone! You already have a lot of money!
