Not a bad signing. I always thought Sarich was a pretty decent defenseman. I guess this could be a replacement for Reghr (I heard he wants out of Calgary) or Hamrilik (free agent)

Yeah thats what I was thinking. Calgary has pretty soild D-core. Where did you hear that Regher wanted out of Calgary? I havent heard that one yet. When is Calgary coming close to the cap limit? Must be soon. Since they are extending Iginla's contract and with Aucon etc.

It was sometime last week, I think. It was a passing rumor (not on Eklund's site, though) that said either he wanted out or that Calgary wanted to trade him. At the time I thought it wasn't much of anything since Regher is such an important defensive presence on the team. However, with the acquisition of Sarich and Aucoin they must be getting close to the cap and if they have to make a deal/lose a player it would be from where they're pretty strong (in defense).

Hmmm. Thats weird. I always thought Regher liked it in Calgary. There are probably to much defense and he might not feel that he gets enough playing time or something? Maybe it can be becasue of Keenan?
