Flyers Rumor
Reading in another article that Peter Forsberg is most likely going to the next captain of the Flyers. He would be replacing former Red Wing Keith Primeau. If he is picked there will then be six Swedes captaining NHL clubs.

I hope he gets it hes the best flyers player in my opinion..Also there is the chance axelsson will be C for the B's and that would make 7.

RE: Flyers Rumor
I definitely think he deserves to be captain. He's a good player and I think he can definitely be the leader on the team.

RE: Flyers Rumor
I would think he is the obvious choice as the flyers captain, primeau coming back from a serious injury shouldnt be wearing the c, then forseberg and gagne are really the only other people that scare opponets and gagne dosent have the leadership.

RE: Flyers Rumor
Forsberg tends to get injured alot though. But I mean, you can't say Primeau wasn't. If Primeau is back, he will still be the captain

RE: Flyers Rumor
A guy who shows up for half of the season does not deserve to be captain. I say give it to Hatcher or Rathje.

RE: Flyers Rumor
he was injured... ofcourse he wouldnt have turned up to make his injury worse... that would be just dumb... and goes to show his leadership qualities, as it shows he is mature enough to sit out until he is back to 100%

RE: Flyers Rumor
I don't think making Forsberg could be a disaster in anyway. I would assume he is pretty respected by most guys in the league. To be playing at all after some of the injuries he has had is amazing. To go into the playoffs without playing a regular season game and lead the playoffs in scoring and only playing 3 rounds is incredible. If he can't lead people I don't know who could.
That be said I have written in another thread on this board that I thought Gagne should get the job after signing his 5 year deal. He will probably be around longer than Forsberg and I think he would be a good captain.
