RE: Flyers Rumor
There's rumors that Bob Clarke and Brian Burke have been talking trade. The one name that keeps springing up is Bryzgalov...not sure who Anaheim would get in return...

RE: Flyers Rumor
Why don't they just give Niitymaki a chance. Bryzgalov had a good playoffs but a ton of guys have had good stretches and then dissapear.

RE: Flyers Rumor
I can see Bryzgalov doing just that. He let in two pretty soft goals against Dallas the other night and Carlyle gave him the hook. I'm sure it doesn't help Ilya's case that one, Giguere has been playing pretty well and that two, his salary is a lot less than Giguere's and thus makes him easier to trade.

RE: Flyers Rumor
Well if the Flyers get him I'm sure he will dissapear quickly. Any goalie the comes to Philly doesn't get the job done. They pay so much for all of this offense but have never gone out and gotten a good goalie. The last goalie that was a top tier goalie was Hextall and that was 15 years ago.

RE: Flyers Rumor
That's really kind of sad. I remember Brian Boucher was touted as being the next big thing but he just kind of dropped off the radar screen after the playoffs that one year.

RE: Flyers Rumor
this reminds me of the bruins... everytime a goaltender hits the bruins roster and has a good season, they will get traded and basically dissapear, for example, John Grahme, Brian Dafoe and Felix Potvin.
and on the trade between the ducks and flyers, i can see the Bryzgalof - Esche trade going through, posably with some other players involved but looks unlikely

RE: Flyers Rumor
Bryzgalov would certainly fit in with the Flyers, what with his new orange pads. That being said, I'm not sure why Burke would want Eche, especially after that 9-1 game the other night...

RE: Flyers Rumor
I think Esche could be a decent backup goalie. It could just be a problem that he is in Philly. A while back the Senators had Ron Tugnutt and Damian Rhodes. Rhodes was probably the better of the two but the rest of the team played much better in front of Tugnutt. The Senators ended up trading Rhodes in part because the team didn't play as well in front of Rhodes.
