WOW. The Flyers are not making any friends in the NHL anytime soon. It's a good strategy by Philadelphia since Buffalo is already in a tough situation with Drury/Briere both being UFAs and the owner saying they don't want to increase their team salary that much (if at all). I'm sure Buffalo will match any offer on Vanek, but this will guarantee the departure of either Drury or Briere. I bet Buffalo will keep the cheaper of the two players (probably Drury, since Briere's point production will give him a higher salary)
