Help getting bigger

I am sophomore (going to be a junior this upcoming winter) and I could possibly battle another player for first line on my high school team. My coach said I have the speed, skating ability, and puck presence to be on first line. However, he told me I must get bigger (5'9 140). In order for this to happen, what must I do including lift weights? And is there a specific diet I should go on. Anyone help is appreciated. Thank you.

RE: Help getting bigger

There are a Couple fo things that can help you gain weight in a healthy way.

Doing weights is great, but rember it is better to go with more sets or more reps per set then more weight. and alwasy do your reps in a moderate speed.

Do a lot of streching or even like yoga because new muscle weight being added on quickly can really reduce your flexablity. And yoga can help build core muscles.

Eat a diet with double your protein. Lean protein is better i.e Chiken breast over a strip steak, also try to reduce your salt and starch/carb intake. And drink lots of water.

Hope that helps
