Hey guys, I'm new here and am interested in playing hockey.
There are adult leagues in my area so I have the opportunity to play.

I have a question about my size. I'm fairly short, 5' 4", and at the "ripe" age of 22, I don't believe I'll be growing much more. I am also only 150lbs. Mind you I only plan on leisurely play, but how much of a factor do you believe my size would be in actually being able to play.

I'm also wondering if any of you are of the shorter breed and in which case could help recommend some gear. Mainly in the focus of shoulder+elbow+shin protection.

I'd appreciate comments on any of the following gear as well (just some of the stuff I was looking at):
CCM 892 vs 692 helmet
CCM 492 vs 692 pants

I don't think your size will matter. Most adult leagues are none checking leagues anyway. I think your size might be to your advantage. You are probably quicker than the bigger players.

As far as equipment, I would recommend HockeyGiant.com . When I ordered all my equipment I ordered it from them. They helped me with sizing and everything. I was a little nervous that somthing might not fit but in the end I was very happy. If you buy from them use the link on the forum.
