To Habs:Malkin
To pens: Ryder,Souray,Aebischer and a first round pick

the habs would then use the caps space that was traded away to sign Dumount.

Its Eklund so..

its just a rumor, not sure if its true.

IMO, the most ridiculous rumour I have heard in a long time.

That wasnt Eklund, that was some other blogger. But that doesnt mean anything. Imagine a team of Young guns such as Crosby, Malkin, Fleury and Staal. In a few years Pittsburgh will be a team to be reckoned with. The Pens will be crazy to turn that bright future away.

Not to mention Armstrong, Malone, Whitney... that is a heck of a team.  There has got to be a huge amount of pressure on each of these young guys to perform.  If they don't reach their potential almost immediately, then it will almost be a waste having so much young firepower.  Three years from now when some contracts start running out, Pittsburgh will be in trouble.

Regardless, you have to give something to get something, and what Montreal is supposedly offering doesn't compare to Malkin in my opinion. Granted they are talented players, but it's basically just a salary dump, and Pittsburgh wouldn't need Aebischer any more than Montreal would.

HAHAHAHAHA that is the most ridiculous trade rumour ever! if the habs were ever to trade for Malkin, it would be Ryder and maybe a pick, not a first though. I cant see them trading Aebby, as Huet isnt all that great, and Souray wouldnt get traded unless they were trading up for a better defenseman. and i dont think they will trade Ryder because he is still young and has proven himself to be a good player in the NHL, where Malkin may be a flop.
