Hurricanes activate LW Stillman from IR
RALEIGH, NORTH CAROLINA (TICKER) -- The defending Stanley Cup champion Carolina Hurricanes gave their inconsistent offense a much-needed boost Monday, activating left wing Cory Stillman from injured reserve.
Stillman had been sidelined for the first two months this season after undergoing surgery on his right shoulder on August 18.
Stillman, 32, registered 21 goals and a team-leading 55 assists with the Hurricanes last season. He was instrumental in Carolina's title run, scoring 26 points in 25 postseason games.
A 12-year veteran, Stillman figures to bolster a Carolina club which is 3-3-0 over its last six games. Although they have netted 14 goals during their three wins over that stretch, the Hurricanes have tallied just three times in the three losses.
Stillman has 205 goals and 305 assists in 717 career games with Carolina, Tampa Bay, St. Louis and Calgary.
