Jovo

Where will Eddy end up? According to Nonis, he's not done in Vancouver yet, and there's a possibility that he could be signed again. But he did buy a house in Florida. Is that a sign he could be returning there? He'd surely be a good fit with Boumeester, but I'd rather see him on our blue line.

Yea, it's very unfortunate, but it looks like Allen will have his defense partner back.

Haha I don't think McCabe is that good...

Anyways, we had him before then traded him away later...

RE: Jovo

Jovo is done in vancouver....Nonis said so himself...heres what he said in a small conference:

Cloutier is done in Vancouver. Noronen will be backup. Nonis says that Cloutier is a top-10 goaltender but Luongo is top-2.

Luongo wants to play in Vancouver and Nonis and his agent are talking long-term deal. Nonis wants it done quickly and when asked by John Shorthouse if he had signed him long-term yet (opening joke), Nonis said, with a straight face, "ask me tomorrow".

Jovanovski is gone. Nonis went into a long speech about the new economics about the NHL and how with the Sedins getting raises and other RFA's, there's not much room left. He did seem more optimistic about Carter.

Bourdon and Bieksa will be top-6.

Naslund and Morrison are healing nicely after their injuries. King and Smith are long ways away.

Tommy Santala was made out to be the best fourth line center the team has ever had.

Linden is "too expensive" at his option price but would fit in at a lower number.

Nonis mentioned that the top 3 lines just need RW's. He named Naslund/Morrison, Sedin/Sedin, and Cooke/Kesler as the current cores of the top 3 lines. He then went on to say anyone could be on the fourth line.

RE: Jovo

I think Keenan will be able to grab Jovanovski in Florida. If so, Florida will have great chance to make the playoffs. Edmonton played 3/4 of the year with awful goaltender and still manage to finish 8th in the West. Alex Auld is way better than both Markannen and Conklin, and an average campaign by him will put Florida in the playoff board.

Didn't you say you helped out with the Calgary Flames. Hitmen and Giants? I'm guessing it was equipment manager, and I sure hope you know more about sticks and skates than logical GM moves. Why would you sign a UFA to trade? Would be rather pointless don't ya think.... and especially to trade for another, lower caliber, UFA.

And as far as Auld and the panthers go, We all thought that they'd be in the playoffs last year with the addition of Nieuwendyk and Roberts and that they'd dominate with Luongo in net. But hey they never. And as good as Auld is, he's still not great. He has his flaws and mistakes, and still isn't as solid. I don't think he'll be the answer to Florida's problems. As far as Bert goes, I think he'll be a great help in Florida and will hopefully jumpstart their offense, but that won't pave their way to the playoffs.
