Kid stuff
Crosby had an assist in Pittsburgh’s 3-2 victory over Alexander Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals on Feb. 18, putting him another point ahead of his rival in their career meetings. In seven games, Crosby now has four goals and eight assists for 12 points; Ovechkin, who was scoreless in the game, is 3-5-8 in those games.
Oldies but goodies -- It’s been a good week or so for some old guys, too. Just three players aged 37 or older had scored five points in a game during the past 30 years: Mario Lemieux (age 40 in 2005), Brett Hull (age 37 in 2002) and Wayne Gretzky (age 38 in 1999). But it then happened twice in a five-day span: Colorado’s Joe Sakic, age 37, had two goals (including the 600th of his career) at Calgary on Feb. 15, and 39-year-old Mark Recchi of the Penguins matched Sakic 2-3-5 effort on Feb. 19 against the Islanders.
ONE DREAM, ONE TEAM, NOTHING ELS MATTERS!!!
