Thrashers Agree to Terms with Forwards Brad Larsen, Eric Boulton and Cory Larose
ATLANTA (June 21, 2006) -- The Atlanta Thrashers have agreed to terms with forwards Brad Larsen, Eric Boulton and Cory Larose, according to Executive Vice President and General Manager Don Waddell. Terms of the deals were not disclosed.
Larsen set career highs with seven goals, eight assists and 15 points in 62 games with the Thrashers last season. The 6-0, 210-pound left wing ranked second on the team with a career-best, three short-handed goals, while adding one goal in six games with Chicago (AHL). The native of Nakusp, British Columbia, has earned 31 points (11 goals, 20 assists) in 160 NHL games with Colorado and Atlanta, and has notched 190 points (83 goals, 107 assists) and 435 penalty minutes in 329 AHL games with Hershey and Chicago. The 28-year old forward was claimed by the Thrashers on waivers from Colorado on Feb. 24, 2004. He was originally selected by the in the fourth round, 87th overall, in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft.
Boulton, 29, set career highs with four goals and nine points in 51 games with the Thrashers in 2005-06. The 6-1, 215-pound left wing finished third on the club with 87 penalty minutes. He has registered 26 points (10 goals, 16 assists) and 598 penalty minutes in 223 NHL games with Buffalo and Atlanta. The native of Halifax, Nova Scotia, has also earned 92 points (45 goals, 50 assists) and 1,250 penalty minutes in 271 minor-league games in the AHL, former International Hockey League and ECHL. Boulton, who signed with Atlanta on Aug. 8, 2005, as an unrestricted free agent, was originally selected by the New York Rangers in the ninth round, 234th overall, in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft.
Larose, 31, who spent the 2004-05 season with Chicago (AHL) after signing with Atlanta on July 14, 2004, earned 31 points (17 goals, 14 assists) in 42 games with Langnau of the Swiss National League this past season. The 6-0, 190-pound center led Langnau in goals and finished second in points. The native of Campbellton, New Brunswick, has notched one assist in seven NHL games with the New York Rangers, and collected 306 points (120 goals, 186 assists) in 376 minor-league contests in the AHL, the former International Hockey League and ECHL.
