Lecavalier NHL's first star for second consecutive week
NEW YORK - Can he make it three? Centre Vincent Lecavalier of the Tampa Bay Lightning was named the NHL's first star for the second week in a row Monday.
San Jose Sharks goaltender Evgeni Nabokov was the second star and Nashville Predators winger Martin Erat was the third star.
Lecavalier led the League with eight points (4-4) in just two games. Lecavalier tied a career high with five points (3-2) in a 6-1 victory over the Carolina Hurricanes last Wednesday. He followed that up with three points (1-2) in a 5-2 victory over the Washington Capitals on Friday night.
Nabokov, meanwhile, went 3-0-1 with 0.96 goals-against average and .959 save percentage in four games as the Sharks moved into first place in the Pacific Division.
Erat had two game-winning goals in three games and had six points overall (3-3) as the Predators earned five of six available points.
