Mair arbitration award

He was awarded $675,000 so the sabres have to accept it. The article says that according to the new cba the sabres have to accept it as it's less than $1.4 mil but that doesn't make sense because the bruins walked away from Tanabe's award. Anyways, the sabres are done all their hearings now so they have 48 hours to decide if they want to take on Dumont's ridiculous overpayment of a contract.

I really, really dont understand these arbitrators mair is getting a raise even though he was out for more than half the year, he didnt even do that great.
Do they count playoffs when they decide the contracts?

I don't think anybody understands the arbitrators - I would like to meet somebody who does and have them explain to me how they make these decisions.
