Shy  Marleau a Habs??

In Montreal, one rumor is really big. It says that GAiney made an offer to have Marleau in Montreal.

Quote:
''the Habs have offered Souray, Ryder, a prospect and a 1st rd pick to San Jose for Patrick Marleau and Kyle McLaren''

Personnaly, I really like the idea of having Marleau in Montreal, but...
I'm not sure It's so good. First of all, Montreal need a RW/Lw, Not a center(and they don'T trade one int the trade).
SEcond of all, I think we give a little biit too much.

What do you think of this?

We Take it, runaway as fast as we can while giggling like little child? Gaga

... except the ''prospect' is Kostitsyn, Perezhogin or Price. It would be difficult to see McLaren in MTL, as the discusting elbow he blow on Zednik was awful. I would rather keep Souray and they keep McLaren, even though Souray>McLaren.

Michael Ryder, Mikhal Grabovski (a stud) and MTL 1st rounder for Patrick Marleau would be incredibly good for Mon

The Sharks give up way to much in this deal. Mclearn>Souray and Marleau>>>>Ryder and a first.

This is a good trade for san jose rather than montreal because they get rid of marleau who is a first line center but wont be and they pick up a great defensemen in souray and a good young talent who can score in Ryder

I wouldn't do this trade if I were San Jose. This rumor was put up on hfboards quite a while back and got shot down.

RE: Marleau a Habs??

Rumour once upon a time was Havlat for Toskala, but Sharks would only part with Nabokov I believe. Either way, that didn't pan out so Havlat and Marleau are separated.

I prefer this deal from the Canadiens side. Marleau is a talented first line center, as is Koivu (when healthy), so they would end up having two talented lines that can score instead of one. The main player here is Ryder, Souray is a waste of ice time, and then some future. Marleau would make a big difference in Montreal.

Lines would be like:
Samsonov-Koivu-Kovalev
Kostitsyn-Marleau-Ribeiro/Higgins

Ribeiro and Higgins both play center, but I think both have RW experience as well, so even though Montreal doesn't need a center, they could make it work if they wanted. That said, I doubt this rumour comes true Smile.

RE: Marleau a Habs??

Thornton-Marleau is the best 1-2 punch in the league. why change it?
I wouldn't take it if I was San Jose

He's their captain, too. He brings so much to the team. He's not getting moved.

RE: Marleau a Habs??

I dont think that SJS will do this trade. Marleau is captain and also great player, when JT and Cheech are not productive Marleau is always there ...

I don't don't like the idea of it and I don't think it will happen. I don't think San Jose would want to give up their captain and if he helps the Sharks out with scoring, then why trade him?
