Mattias Ohlund Suspended
Mattias Ohlund was suspended 4 games after the slash to Miiko Koivu. I did not see the slash but i heard it was pretty dirty.

TORONTO (November 18, 2007) –
Vancouver Canucks defenseman Mattias Ohlund has been suspended for four games, without pay, as a result of a slashing incident during NHL game #277 against the Minnesota Wild, Nov. 16.
Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement, and based on his average annual salary, Ohlund will forfeit $74,866.32. The money goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.
The incident occurred at 16:06 of the third period when Ohlund struck Minnesota player Mikko Koivu with a slash. He was assessed a slashing major and game misconduct. Koivu suffered a broken bone in his left leg on the play.
Ohlund will miss tonight’s game against Calgary, Nov. 20 in Edmonton, Nov. 21 in Minnesota and Nov. 23 in St. Louis. He will be eligible to return Nov. 25 at home against Chicago.

Koivu actually got an elbowing penalty on the play too. Thats what caused Ohlund to slash him, still dirty and uncalled for, but I'd be pissed too if someone elbowed me in the head. Here is the youtube link if you still havent seen it.

Yeah but Ohlund gave Koivu a two hand full baseball swing to his leg. It would be different if it was just a tiny slash.

TORONTO (AP) - The NHL suspended Vancouver defenseman Mattias Ohlund for four games Sunday for his stick-swinging hit on Minnesota forward Mikko Koivu.
Koivu was injured in the third period Friday night after getting whistled for an elbowing penalty. Ohlund responded by swinging his stick and slashing Koivu, cracking a bone in the forward's left leg.
Koivu has five goals with 11 assists in 19 games for the Wild. He will miss about a week.
Ohlund will forfeit $74,866.32 in salary.
