Modano hits 503,
Stars fall 3-2
Mike Modano scored two big goals to become the NHL's top U.S.-born goal scorer in Saturday night's road loss to the Nashville Predators by a 3-2 margin. Stephane Robidas was injured in the third period after being sucker punched by Nashville's Jordin Tootoo. The Stars will head home to face the Phoenix Coyotes tomorrow night at American Airlines Center.
 Jordin Tootoo SHOULD BE SUSPENDED!!!!!!! to punch a player like Robidas is just cowardly and the Nashville fans showed how big of a bunch of lowlifes that they are by cheering this on WHILE ROBIDAS LAID KNOKED OUT COLD ON THE ICE AND WAS STRETCHERED OFF Not to let that be outdone they then starsted yelling "Madano you suck" after he broke the record which totally shows a lack of class. GOD I CANT WAIT FOR THE 31ST WE SHOULD SEE PLENTY OF ACTION IN BIG D THAT NIGHT

He got suspended 5 games. I think it's fair.

TORONTO -- The NHL suspended Nashville Predators winger Jordin Tootoo five games for punching Dallas Stars defenseman Stephane Robidas in the face.
Robidas was knocked unconscious on the play late in the third period Saturday night in a 3-2 Predators win in Nashville.
"While a player is entitled to defend himself, Mr. Tootoo's forceful blow to Robidas' head was an overly aggressive and inappropriate response," NHL senior executive vice-president and director of hockey operations Colin Campbell said in a statement Monday.
Robidas, who was coming to the defense of star center Mike Modano, was assessed a minor for charging on the play, and Tootoo received a double-minor for roughing.
Robidas was carried off the ice on a stretcher and was taken to hospital. He's out at least a week with a concussion.
Campbell added that the injury sustained by Robidas was a factor in the decision.
The 24-year-old Tootoo has three goals, four assists and 104 penalty minutes in 61 games this season. Robidas has 17 assists and 82 penalty minutes in 71 games.

That is great for Modano to get the record. Kind of a surprise that he didn't already have it.
As for the punch I think 2 games would have been enough. In that youtube clip they are right that it wasn't a sucker punch. With the way Robidas was coming at Tootoo his stick was pretty high and Tootoo just reacted to that. Had Robidas not been hit it looks like he could have hit Tootoo in the face pretty hard with his stick.
Who cares that Modano got booed or they chanted that he sucks. He has had a great career but it's not like he is Gretzky or Lemiuex who are cheered by opposing fans for accomplishments. I think it's good that Nashville fans are really grtting into the games.
