RE: Most Hated Player
I didn't know Havlat kicked people...I do seem to recall a kicking incident not too long ago although I'm not sure which player it was...

RE: Most Hated Player
This past season he got a 5 game suspension for kicking Hal Gill in the groin. In 2004 he was suspended for 2 games for kicking Eric Cairns and another 2 games for slashing Mark Recchi in the face. He's a pretty dirty guy. The thing I find pathetic is that kicking someone (and not injuring them) is worth a bigger suspension then hitting someone into the boards from behind and breaking their neck. Stupid Colin Campbell.

RE: Most Hated Player
That's pretty sickening to hear that a talented guy like Havlat resorts to such despicable tactics.
And as for Colin Campbell, the league's front office is full of whack-jobs like him. It really needs to be shaken up a bit with a change. It's gotten too complacent and too inconsistent.

RE: Most Hated Player
People around these parts still hate Danny Heatley for the way he left, I'd have to agree. For what happened to Snyder and then how he asked for an outright release instead of being traded when we treated him like he could do no wrong the entire time he was here and all the "community service" he was sentenced to do wasn't even done locally in the place where the crime was committed. Not to mention the fact that he sold his house in Atlanta a month before he even began talks with any teams and as soon as he gets the contract in front of him claims how good it is to be "in a real hockey town" with "real hockey fans".
Honorable mention also goes to Petr Buzek for refusing to play in a game after the training staff cleared him, ultimately leading to his suspention and trade.

One thing i Could never stand for is that the Atlanta fans now hate Dany Heatley. He got into an accident and it killed his friend Dan Snyder. Imagin if that was you who accidently killed a close friend... how hard would it be to pass that spot night after night after night. It was right imo for Heatley to ask a trade, not just because he landed with the sens but because it would be to hard for him to continue to play there. Heatley said when he was first introduced to the Ottawa Senators Orginization and the Media that he would truley miss the Atlanta fans. Yet the Thrasher fans cant forgive him for leaving. The first game with him in Atlanta he was booed and I thought that was just horrible. He played with you since he was in his rookie year and loved it there... loved the fans and loved the people around him. So how do you show your thankful? 'BOOOO'. I think whoever booed Heatley should take a good look at themselfs in the mirrior. But that is just My Opinion.
(its not directed at you Oster, Its just my opinion on Dany Heatley in Atlanta)
But come on... I have heard no mention yet of Alexi Yashin. Alexi Yashin

RE: Most Hated Player
I guess it's strange, but I love Todd Bertuzzi, Denis Gauthier and Sean Avery. My most hated player is by far Tie Domi. Hated him since the Niedermayer incident and always will. I kinda like Tucker, although its hard for the Peca thing. I've always hated Scott Gomez, which I guess is good because now NJ has to trade him.

Well, true, it may have been an accident, but the bottom line was the accident came about through his negligence, and he, however untentional, got a person killed. It may have been hard for him to live in the same area and play for the same team without his friend, but in my opinion he has no one to blame but himself. I'm not saying he shouldn't be forgiven but the way he left town soured a lot of people's mouths who were still upset and angered from the loss of Snyder. Also, he didn't ask for a trade, he asked to be released outright to sign with whatever team he wanted, so from a coaching perspective that right there puts us down 2 players, one of whom was arguably our best player at the time. Even with all that aside, for the simple fact that as soon as he was secured by the Sens, he turns around and bashes the Thrashers staff and fans who treated him like a God since he got here, sorry but I find that to be a total dick move and a slap in the face. I still think he is a very talanted player and wish him no ill will in the future but I lost pretty much all respect for him when he turned on the fans and the team as soon as he stepped foot in Ottawa.

RE: Most Hated Player
Does anybody remember the incident from the world championships a few years ago involving rob niedermayer tripping the goalie and canada scoring a goal from it?
that incident really gave niedermayer a bad name for me.

RE: Most Hated Player
Robby Niedermayer? A bad name? The Niedermayer brothers (at least to my knowledge) have always had a good name within the hockey community. Do you remember the specifics?
