2004 world champs... Canada was playing the Slovaks and was tied at 1-1 going into the 3rd. about 6 mins into the 3rd Canada clears the puck in behind the slovak goal with Lasek going behind his net to play the puck. Robby Niedermayer skates for the puck and his stick is put into Laseks leg pads and trips the goalie over, with the puck still in the slovak zone. i think it was horcoff who picked the puck up and before Lasek could get back to the goals and make the save scores the game winner to put canada into the gold medal game.

I don't know if an incident like that (which is also isolated as well) is enough of a reason to hate a player but to each his own.

i didnt say i hated the guy... all im saying is that an incident like that could tarnish a players reputation. I love both Niedermayers as players, but now i would have to say i live Scott more than Rob.

It's crazy that I've never heard of that incident...then again I don't have the opportunity to watch a lot of international play. Maybe it was really just an accident?

It probably was. If it was such an outrage it would've received more media attention. I've never heard of this incident either. One accident like that isn't enough to tarnish a players rep. It's repeated incidents that do that.

If you think Rob Niedermayer tripping a goalie once is comparable to the crap those two pull all the time then I don't know what to tell you.

I wasn't comparing Niedermayer to the likes of Avery and Ruutu. I was stating that players like Avery and Ruutu should not be respected at all for what they do.

Tie Domi is an absolute thug though! i love watching him fight.. infact i love watching anybody fight. but there is a line though and Domi is way over it!

Yeah, Domi can be a little out of control at times.
