I myself am also excited for this game on the 360. I found a video with a new feature announced, Its called- Create a Play. That means you can create any play you want... maybe even the famous flying V from the Mighty Ducks movie!!! It would be diffucult to exucute though.

This game is coming out on September 11th I believe... but I don't know weither I should get this or NHL 2k8. The person on the cover for that game is just too awesome and I'd feel bad for the first time a Senator gets on the cover I buy the opposite game. Oh well, I'll have to decide soon.

In this video it confirms that the EA game will also include the new logos, as it shows the Sharks new logo within this feature.

In case no one has heard, not only will 08 be an NHL game, but it will also feature the AHL, with the real players. So if your in a tight spot in your season and your star goalie (Ray Emery) comes down with the flu... why play Gerber when you can scout the minors instead? It should be a good feature.

I just picked up NHL 08 this past week (along with Halo 3 which I obviously had to play nonstop until I beat it ) and I've really been getting down into some of the new features of it.  I'm pretty impressed with the new ability to play a specific position the entire game, especially when playing as goalie.  It seems like a simple addition but it really does change the way you play the game and makes you play your position a lot smarter than usual.  Also something I thought was awesome was that you can enable a "goalie cam" which gives you a third person view behind the head of the goalie you're controlling and you really get a sense of how tough it is to be a goalie.  Also while playing one position, you're responsible for manually skating to the bench for line changes (this also helps keep you interested in the game while playing goalie when the puck is at the other end of the ice because you're responsible for manually skating to the bench during delayed penalties).  


Another addition that I was really glad to see was online leagues, although it seems like most of the good features of this mode won't be in until next year's version.  I was looking also through management modes and it seems that they've done away with the traditional Season mode unfortunately, and now only have a Dynasty mode (which isn't bad, but I don't understand the need to take out a feature that was already in the game and was no detriment to any other mode).  The addition of AHL teams (as well as Swedish and Finnish Elite Leagues' teams) adds a lot more depth to the Dynasty mode since you can now take over and manage the farm teams and have a lot more interactivity with the future of your teams.  It's also just cool to be able to play AHL games along with NHL games and gives you a chance to get more out of the season with the ability to practice with your teams and Create your own plays.

All in all I definately like 08 so far, I haven't gotten too deep into my dynasty yet but the changes made from the last version all seem to be for the better and it definately doesn't feel like it's just 07 with updated rosters.
