I admire the loyalty of guys like Stevie Y. I wish it were still that way these days but people will go anywhere for the big bucks it seems.

It's like nobody has the passion for the game anymore. It's all about the money talking now.

yeah it just seems to be about the pay check now. i dont think there are many players who are still with the same they were when they were drafted. i know that PJ Axelsson has been with the bruins since he was drafted a few years ago and i believe patrick marleau has been with the sharks since he was drafted.. not to suire about others though. which is dissapointing

Theres Sakic. Even though he played for Quebec he stayed when the team moved.

Mattias Ohlund, Iginla...

yeah. every player is just in this for the money. although there are just a few good loyal players, thank goodness. if we didn't have good loyal players and just all money greedy players, then some players would throw a game just for an extra wad of cash

and nice list.

made that myself

RE: NHL 1,000-Point Scorers

Players would be more loyal if owners were more loyal. A lot of these guys are on different teams due to trades, not just free agent signings. I like and respect Yzerman a lot but I doubt he would have stayed on the same team if he had been in a place like Buffalo or Long Island for all of those years. He had the fortune of playing on a team that improved as he did. He was winning and the Wings were willing to pay to keep him. I don't think he would have made more if he had switched teams.
As much as this is a sport it is a job for these guys. I don't blame the players for switching teams to make more money. It is hard for players to have much loyalty to organizations when their is so much change with the teams. There is so much ownership, management and coaching change not many players get a chance to know the people that are above them to bother having loyalty.

As for Iginla he was drafted by the Stars.
