OHL Announces Disciplinary Action
Game of Thursday, March 2nd, 2006 - London at Peterborough
Toronto - The Ontario Hockey League today announced the results of its review as the result of the actions of players at the commencement of the game of Thursday, March 2nd, 2006 involving the visiting London Knights Hockey Club and the Peterborough Petes.
The game in question began with four consecutive fights within the first 8 seconds of such game.
In announcing the decision, League Commissioner David Branch stated "the actions of the players at the commencement of the game were most concerning and not consistent with the expectation the League has established".
It is the position of the League that coach Dick Todd of the Peterborough Petes Hockey Club and coach Dale Hunter of the London Knights Hockey Club shall be suspended for two (2) games each effective immediately and both hockey clubs are fined $2,500.00.
