The occasional break down as usual. I really like that kid though! He's got a goal tonight against the Wings.

No doubt he's a good kid. I was sad that he got traded but we got a BIG return, so it was alright I suppose.

It's so weird not seeing Detroit amongst the top of the league standings...it's almost surreal!

Detroit is tied with Nashville for 1st in the division and are only 5 points behind the Ducks and have a game in hand. They are usually right at the top but even though they are technically in 6th place they are closer to first in the conference than missing the playoffs.

And what's funny is that the reason why they're 6th is because of the Pacific Division. It's so damn competetive. Between Anaheim, Dallas, and San Jose, it's hands-down the toughest division in the league.

Nah, the Northeast Divison is the toughest. There's usually only one team that doesn't do good. For past years, the entire Pacific division has sucked, except one team. Kinda like the Southeast.

I'm more of a habs fan and don't really follow the Oliers much, but they are a favorite of mine, so I'm wondering if Hemsky is producing well. When I can watch Oliers' games he doesn't seem to be.

RE: Oilers in a new season...

I just heard someone from sportsnet west who calls the Oilers games (Gene Princepe sp. I think) talking about how inconsistent Hemsky is. He was saying that one night he looks like one of the top 10 skilled players in the league and the next he disapears and doesn't do anything. He said that he sort of lloks like Sergei Samsonov who has great skill but stays on the perimiter a lot but hopes he will play in the corners more as he gets older.
