I don't know what the Oilers idea of an offensive defenceman is but if they expect him to get more than 20 points a year they should stop looking at Phillips. I think Phillips is one of the best guys in the league in his own zone. He's great along the boards and behind his net but doesn't do much in the offensive zone.
[color=green]The oilers have great prospects and a great up and commer in Greene, they need a fix while they develope, so Pitkanen or Brewer or even Sturm are a good fix. I think if you are looking at getting a great D to help develope, getting rid of one who is hot right now, that can get icy cold, is the way to go. bundle Bergeron with one of your forwards...Torres isa great gritty player and can benifit other teams so he is a good dangle, throw in a young guy in Jaques eith bergie and Torres they could get a quality D man to compliment Staios and smith and help Sm id and Greeene.
There's rumor that Lupul is also on the trading block, so you might see Lupul for a defenceman. And at a -16, I wouldn't blame Lowe, even though he'd probably get lynched for trading away the cornerstone of the Pronger deal.
