Ottawa Team for Next Year

I like what GSA did for the HAbs,
so i wanted to start a threads for other teams.
What do you guys see for the Sens next year.
I'm a fan of Spreading the talent out some, so I'd like to see it like this.

Neil - Spezza - Alfedsson
Eaves - Savard(???) - Heatley
Laraque* - Vermette - Schacfer
Kelley - Fisher - McGratton
(Hamel / Foligno / )

Redden - Phillips
Pronger* - Meszaros
Pothier - Volchenkov
(Schubert / Lyamin)

Hasek/ Hopefully it will be a UFA
Emery

* Heard of a trade that will send Havlat and another player most likey Smolinski, or Eaves, and draft pick to Emdonton for Pronger and LAraque

I would also like to see ottawa pick up a good center mabye Savard, mabye some one else.

RE: Ottawa Team for Next Year

wow, Not_Doody, you an Ottawa Fan? I thought I was alone around here!

Keep the Top line together (Heatley, Spezza, Alfie) but if you have to move one of them move Alfie. Heatley and Spezza have a spark as we have seen last season.

Fisher should centre the 2nd or 3rd line after his breakout season last year. I also think Vermette might be on the trading block right now. I know he wants to go to Montreal very badly and he will probally be there in a year or 2. Maybe we could get Higgins for him and a 2nd or 3rd rounder.

Smolinski will probally be let go or traded this offseason. Also Pothier is a UFA and Im pretty sure Ottawa won't want to bring him back to play in the nations capital.

Ottawa is 50/50 on keeping Hasek in Ottawa for another season, but I think they should. If they didn't have any plans on keeping him I think we might of heard something by now.

Whatever Happens... Ottawa needs to be taking HASH* into all their games and intimidate the opponets and hope to encarve the Ottawa Senators name on the Stanley Cup yet again!

* HASH Heatley Alfredsson Spezza Hasek

RE: Ottawa Team for Next Year

Dany Heatley - Jason Spezza - Daniel Alfedsson
Patrick Eaves - Bryan Smolinski - Martin Havlat
Chris Neil - Mike Fisher - Peter Schaefer
Chris Kelly - Antoine Vermette - Brian McGratton

Wade Redden - Chris Phillips
Anton Volchenkov - Andrei Meszaros
Joe Corvo - Christoph Schubert

Martin Gerber
Ray Emery

Nice lineup. Grit and talent. The best third line in the league. Some question between the pipes. Overall one of the best formation in the league.

(Not_Doody, Nick Foligno won't be in the NHL before 2 or 3 years. Moreover, no team would be crazy enough to put their 18 or 19 years old talent as the 13th or 14th forwards or 7th defenseman. These young man need to develop by playing a lot)

RE: Ottawa Team for Next Year

#1: This is the sens team for next year... not the sabres

#2: Sens need to get down to work on acquiring some more forwards. As of right now the Sens have 10 forwards... if you include the RFA's and Schubert. Some players we might be able to try and get are:
Peca
McEachern (nice to have him back if we can make a deal)
Doan (acquire via trade for picks or something)
Nagy( also acquired in phoenix trade)
Recchi

Just some ideas... Id be happy if we get 1 of them... super happy if we get two.

Hey Sparky. If Ottawa made it to the Stanley Cup, that would mean Buffalo has been eliminated. Buffalo could beat out Ottawa in round 1-3... but I don't see Buffalo as  a contender next year.

Back to the main topic here: The Ottawa Senators.

Ottawa needs a new forward and fast! (July 12th- October 3rd) We just traded away a highly skilled forward and a tremondous leader centre. We need a new forward! I know we will probally bring over Koaigdrov (I know its not spelled right) or someone else in the minors. I hope Ottawa doesnt bring up Hamel though.

John Muckler said he was done with UFA and whatnot in the Ottawa Sun. But we need another forward. Just one more. Any postion. Get out their Mucks and sign Eric Daze, Mike Peca... someone!

Sincerly,
Ryan

RE: Ottawa Team for Next Year

Buffalo is going to be a great contender next year with all of their young players and then ottawa losing a couple key players is gonna have a tough time.
