By now, you may have heard about the trouble the Staal brothers got themselves into earlier this week. Just kids being kids, but dumb ones at that.

So, Eric and Jordan Staal decided to have a little bit of fun at a bachelor party in Minnesota, not far from where they live. That's fine and dandy, but not when you start becoming a public nuisance.

Thankfully, it has been confirmed by Blueshirt Bulletin that our dear Staal brother, Marc, was wise enough to stay out of trouble. Not that Jordan and Eric will face huge disciplinary action from the league (if any at all), but it's nice to know that our little Marc was safe, sound and smart -- and hopefully ready for the NHL season.

There's not much other Rangers content out there, as we pass the dog days of summer waiting for the first pucks to drop in the fall. The Bulletin has a nice entry up describing the paradox that even as the team continues to rebuild, they keep winning. We credit Jaromir Jagr for sparking the team throughout the '05-'06 season, which entirely changed the losing culture that pervaded the Ranger organization.

As for this Rangers-being-interested-in-Mike Peca thing, we're hoping Peca is just saying this stuff to drive up his asking price from the other teams. First of all, we're not sure how the Rangers would afford him, and second of all, we're not sure how a guy who played just 35 games last season while notching 15 points will help all that much. As almost always seems to be the case with this team, the Blueshirts would be smarter to play one of their many talented kids.
