Anyone see Ovechkin's hit on Briere? I can't believe that only drew a $100 fine and no suspension. It was a blatant cheapshot from behind almost taking Brieres head off. I certainley lost a lot of respect for Ovechkin.

I think that warrants a suspension but I find it hard to believe he was only fined $100.  You must have forgotten a few zeroes.

Edit: just looked it up on tsn and it is only a hundred bucks. That's ridiculous. Might as well not even fine him if that's all you're gonna charge. That's just change to any pro (excpt for maybe McCarty lol).

Yeah I thought $100 seemed weird too but then I checked it out and it was $100.

I don't have a problem with their being no suspension because I don't think it was intentional, but the $100 fine is a bit insane. At that point, why bother.

I saw the hit too and I think he already got what he deserved. Although the fine is a tiny amount. It should have been 5000 or something like that. He already got the game misconduct and I honestly don't think he warranted more for the hit.

If you watch the tape, Briere would have been sideways in most situations, for a shoulder to shoulder hit. But at impact he slows and turns his back to prepare for a line change. That was when Ovechkin hit him. It was not intentional, he does not have a history of being a dirty player, therefore, no suspension needed.

Ok I am an Ovechkin fan, But with that hit i think the should have charged him $1000 + 2-4 game suspension.

$100 is way to cheap. He should at least ahve a suspension

It was intentional by every means, Last year too Ovechkin Drilled Biron when Biron came out for the puck against Buffalo. Heres a video of that.
