Ovechkin set to dazzle physical Flyers
It's really exciting to watch Ovechkin, and I'm sure he will show more magic during the playoffs. But I want to emphasize the role of Huet in the qualification of the Caps to the playoffs. I believe that his role is as important as Ovechkin in this achievement. Huet's save average with the Caps after he got traded from the Habs is .936, and goal per game average is 1.63!!! That is first class goaling!

Die-hard hockey fans will finally get what they've hoped for on Friday: Alex Ovechkin in a playoff series.
After picking up the Rocket Richard Trophy as the league's top goal scorer and the Art Ross Trophy for most points this season, the NHL's most exciting player and his Washington Capitals begin Game 1 of their best-of-seven series versus the Philadelphia Flyers at home on Friday (7 p.m. ET).
The Capitals were the NHL's Cinderella in the 2007-08 regular season, rising from last in the league after two months to win the title in the league's least competitive division, the Southeast, with 94 points and a record of 43-31-8.
Most impressive, they made it by winning seven straight contests at the end of the season, taking the division title and a playoff berth from the Carolina Hurricanes.
The Capitals became the first team in NHL history to reach the playoffs after being 14th or 15th in its conference at mid-season.

RE: Ovechkin set to dazzle physical Flyers
The Caps had a very good finish too the season but they did against a bunch of terrible teams. Their toughest opponent in the last 11 games was probably the Bruins.
I am excited to see Ovechkin play but I doubt it will last more than 1 series. OV is great but his supporting cast is not anywhere close to his level. Might be a year or 2 before he has the help he needs to advance deep into the playoffs.

2 games in and the Flyers are containing Ovechkin pretty well. Today's win was huge. Going back to Philly with a win and a tied series, the crowd will be going wild.

RE: Ovechkin set to dazzle physical Flyers
I think Ovechkin will help to get fans to watch the Capitals play, but Washington will only win if Huet can continue to dominate. Games are so much tighter, closer, and more defensive in the playoffs that its easier to contain Ovechkin (not that you can stop him, just slow hiim down ). Thats why if Huet falters it will be a lot harder to make up the offense and score goals than during the regular season.

The Flyers played their worst game of the series tonight but still managed to pull out the win tonight in double OT. Got lucky tonight to manage to come out with the win, I hope this will give them some momentum to finsh the caps of on saturday.

Ovechkin is an amazing player. The Washington Capitols should be really happy that they have a player like Ovechkin.
