Florida Panthers General Manager Mike Keenan announced today that the club has agreed to terms on a one-year deal with RW Juraj Kolnik.

Kolnik, 25, was acquired by the Panthers in a trade from the New York Islanders on Oct. 11, 2002 in exchange for Sven Butenschon. During the 2005-06 season, Kolnik posted career highs in games played (77), goals (15), assists (20), points (35), game-winning goals (3) and penalty minutes (40).

“Juraj has had two productive seasons with the Panthers and we are excited to have him on our team for a third,” said Keenan. “He is a hard working player whose continued contributions we look forward to.”

The Nitra, Slovakia native has 29 goals and 32 assists in his two seasons with the Panthers, including six power play goals. Kolnik played in his 100th career NHL game on Oct. 5, 2005 against Atlanta and set a career high with four assists on Feb. 28, 2006 at Tampa Bay. For his career, Kolnik has played in 176 games with 35 goals, 35 assists and 60 penalty minutes.
