Panthers Begin Training Camp & Roster

Hockey season is inching closer!! I can't wait. Opening night for the Panthers is against the Bruins on Oct 6th (I'll be there!!)

Anyway the Panthers opened camp in Vail on the 13th. I am not sure why the have camp there but who cares I guess.

I have included the Panthers training camp roster below.

The Florida Panthers opened their 2006 Training Camp with photos and physicals on Thursday at the BankAtlantic Center. The Panthers then traveled to Vail, Colo. and open up on-ice sessions today at Eagle Ice Rink in Eagle, Colo. After a six-game preseason road trip, the Cats will complete Training Camp at incredible ICE in Coral Springs and the BankAtlantic Center in Sunrise during the week of Sept. 25.

The Cats two preseason home games – Sept. 27 vs. Atlanta and Sept. 28 vs. Chicago – are presented by Bruce Rossmeyer Harley-Davidson.

The Panthers training camp will consist of 41 players – 24 forwards, 12 defensemen and five goaltenders. Florida will play eight preseason games, with the first six on the road. The Cats preseason schedule is as follows.

Sept. 17 at Calgary 8 p.m.
Sept. 18 at Edmonton 9 p.m.
Sept. 20 at Atlanta 7 p.m.
Sept. 21 at Chicago 8:30 p.m.
Sept. 23 vs. NY Rangers (Puerto Rico) 7:30 p.m.
Sept. 24 at Detroit 7 p.m.
Sept. 27 vs. Atlanta 7:30 p.m.
Sept. 28 vs. Chicago 7:30 p.m.

The Panthers will practice in two different groups for the first 10 days of camp. The Training Camp schedule is listed below. Please note that the times on the schedule are always subject to change.

The Panthers begin the 2006-07 regular season Oct. 6 at the BankAtlantic Center against Zdeno Chara and the Boston Bruins at 7:30 p.m. After a brief two game road trip, the Cats return home to face the defending Stanley Cup Champion Carolina Hurricanes on Wed., Oct. 11 at 7:30 p.m., followed two days later by a game against Southeast Division rival Tampa Bay Lightning on Fri., Oct. 13 at 7:30 p.m. For more information or to purchase tickets for the upcoming Florida Panthers season, please call 954-835-PUCK or visit www.floridapanthers.com.

That goaltending list looks better than I thought it would after losing Luongo. Hopefully for the Panthers Belfour can help Pelletier come along.
